This week we continued our exploration into writing fiction stories by learning about physical setting. Then, to advance our understanding of gravity and gravitational energy, students began their Pendulum Project.
Over the next week, using the engineering principles we learned in week 1, everyone will be constructing a pendulum that has to accomplish two goals relating to the size of the pendulum and the amount of weight they need to be able to hold. Students will find out the reason for these goals at the end!
I'm really impressed with what everyone has been doing so far!
When we finish our build, we'll also use our pendulums to learn more about potential and kinetic energy, gravity, and why the pendulum doesn't swing forever.
We got to end our week with some water games, which felt great after a hot week!
