The Annual Fund!
Tuition keeps our school running on a “shoestring budget,” but it doesn’t leave room for surprises or big dreams. Instead of asking families to buy Tuition Insurance like most private schools, we came up with something better: the Annual Fund! Families chip in what they can, and those gifts go into a special account to cover unexpected needs and fuel growth. The money flows into three buckets:
1. Unexpected Financial Loss: As a small school, even one family defaulting on tuition can make a big dent. That’s why the Annual Fund fills this bucket first—keeping the lights on, materials stocked, and teachers paid.
2. Unplanned Expenses: Life happens! From roof leaks to broken furnaces (or even surprise tree removals), this bucket makes sure we’re ready for the curveballs without draining our regular budget.
3. Capital Growth: Once the basics are covered, we get to dream big! Past Annual Fund savings have built our school addition, amphitheater, geodesic dome, and more—proof that careful saving turns into amazing spaces for our kids.
