Onward & Upward

Writer: ColletteCollette

What a great time of year this is. The children are so engaged in working with no holiday distractions! They go from strength to strength and have become so independent!

This week we learned a little about our heart and lungs and we also discussed how important sleep is for our bodies!

Color mixing was a work frequently chosen this week along with polishing, nutmeg grinding And baby washing. Kindergarten has begun a new sewing project - a map of the United States.

Next week we adjust our schedule a little to continue to have the children’s well being as our first priority. The schedule changes are not disruptive to the children but ensure more spacing, inside and outside. As we do this the children’s interests, ease of movement for them and general happiness are our number one concern. Our environment is always prepared and ready when we face a new challenge which then ensures the children don’t see it as a challenge or a disruption to their normal day. With so much disruption in their lives right now due to the ‘new normal’ we are now living with, normalcy in what they do every day at school is key. The fact that the children are successful in their academic, social and emotional growth is a testament to this. We are so proud of them, they constantly humble us in how they accept and embrace all we ask of them. They are truly remarkable and we are so grateful to have them lead us through these uncertain times. Thank you all for sharing them with us.

Have a great weekend!

The Primary Team!
