Primary November 2-6. An extra home in the dome!

We began our week with a very chilly start. We have made a second classroom in the dome. While we have spent time in the dome on rainy days, we now have it set up as a fully functioning second classroom. kindergarten goes to maker space in the dome for a little while on Thursday mornings and the rest of the children alternate between the dome and the classroom daily. Of course we continue to spend as much time as we can outdoors but it is great to have the extra space and the children were both surprised and delighted with the transformation. It is also lovely that the 2 birds and chicks share the space with us!

We took advantage of the lovely weather the last few mornings and had meditative morning walks in the woods. It is always interesting to hear what the children notice during these walks. We have been working on a group skit for the variety show during our nature walks and the children are really enjoying it!

it has been a productive week, the children are working hard academically and socially!

Some of the works chosen this week were constructive triangles, binomial and trinomial cubes, and many math, language and science works as you can see in the pictures.

It is hard to believe we are in November and a couple of weeks away from Thanksgiving break. The children have risen to every challenge presented to them so far this year, inside/outside classrooms in 4 different spaces, mask wearing, social distancing and many other challenges. I cannot begin to tell you how incredibly proud I am of them. We have a lovely class, they work hard, play hard and are really to be commended. Thank you all for your trust in us and for sharing them with us!
