Riparian zones are intriguing and valuable ecosystems, which happen to be an essential part of your child’s experience at DGS. Throughout the year, our students play, study, and explore the creek and its surrounding area - our riparian zone. This month, our focus will be on riparians zone- their characteristics, function, and how to restore these areas.
This week we focused on the biotic and abiotic elements of the riparian area on our campus- how these elements interact and the energy exchange happening throughout this ecosystem.
