At the beginning of the week, one of our students keenly noticed that a caterpillar had begun to form a chrysalis on the fence that surrounds our outdoor classroom. It reminded me of the transformation going on in the children as they do the work of constructing themselves. Dr. Montessori said, "Is it through work alone that a child develops."

That caterpillar is amazing. We've been able to witness so many cool natural events here lately. And, the division board and racks and tubes I think is still my favorite montessori work : ) brilliant.
