Upper El students enjoyed a day spent at the Catawba Cultural Preservation on Thursday. Students learned of Catawba history, language, and art, including pottery. Students observed traditional dance, song, and drumming performances, and learned how to do a friendship dance. The class hiked a trail on the preservation, and enjoyed views of the Catawba River. This trip supported students' current learning in class about our country's natives.
