Upper Elementary - Habitat for Humanity Fuel-a-Crew

We started building community with Habitat for Humanity last year. It's been wonderful to partner with this organization that contributes so much to our region. https://www.habitatcltregion.org/

We have painted baffles, decorated art for homes, hosted a book drive for Julia's Cafe https://www.juliascafe.org/ and now - fueled a crew. With each step, we have learned more about the work they do and been able to see some of that work in action.

This week we brought lunch to the Tuesday warehouse crew. Some of them have been volunteering for over 20 years! We enjoyed nurturing fellowship over lunch. Then we were able to see the work of the warehouse. It's set up like a hardware store on one half and the other is a workshop where panels other structures are built that will become part of the homes. From there, we were able to visit a Habitat community in progress. It's made up of 29 home in various stages with some already moved into.

We are looking forward to continuing this partnership in the years to come.
