We had a "slow flow" hibernation day on Wednesday. This annual event is such fun and a favorite day each year. Our day is spent cozying up with some good books, learning about hibernating animals and relaxing together. We made potato soup and "Bear-Bite Breadsticks, "Rice Cake Bear Face Treats" and Hibiscus Tea and Honey.

LE Jeopardy is underway. Teams create the categories , questions and host the games. Questions range from $10-$40. There is a Final Jeopardy question for the teams. This is great fun with everyone working together.
Categories include: grab bag, science, math, animals, social studies, geography,and language. Our kids draw from their knowledge in all areas for the questions. I have been stumped a number of times!!

Our study of native Americans includes communication which consisted of symbols. We used symbols to write stories in creative writing.

Plains Native American diorama is under construction. Based on the Needs of Man our cultural studies explore housing/shelter, food, transportation, defense, spiritual needs as we learn about cultures and history.
We are reading Native American Stories/Legends from Keepers of Life and Keepers of Animals. Hands-on activities, art and nature activities are part of this study.
