Dgs Middle School had a lovely first week back at it, and our Science & Engineering class is off to an excellent start.
Our first few days were spent acclimating to our new & improved space, getting to know our classmates, and diving into the first area of our curriculum this year, which will center around air pressure, the atmosphere, and weather. We revisited the scientific method through an introductory experiment and laid out some of the procedures which we will use throughout the year. Next week, we will jump into a fun wind-related design challenge and also break out our Lego robotics kits!
We also had a wonderful trip to Kinetic Heights on Thursday. I think everyone got a better feel for our class’s dynamic ( and had their assumptions and/or comfort zone pushed in the process).
If you can touch base with your student to confirm that they have (or are in the process of acquiring) a Google/GMail account for use with our DGS Google Classroom, it would be greatly appreciated.
