Middle School Week in Review (October 28th - November 1st)

Wow! This week flew by, as did our first trimester. On Monday we had an incredibly relaxed day of awesome enrichment activities. It began with a trip into town to the Casual Creative, where our instructor, Maria Hamm, gave us a great lesson on Abstract Art and the artist Paul Klee. Kids then put that understanding to the test by creating their own piece of art. We will follow up with another lesson this Tuesday. Our art class was followed by Philosophy with Mr. Matt and Spanish with Ms. Adrianna.

Tuesday - Wednesday was a mix of completing assignments for the end of the trimester, specifically revising and resubmitting one writing task for a formal assessment grade. The kids worked really hard and put a lot of time into revising the assignment they chose and engaging in peer and teacher conferences so that they were able to submit an example of their best work.

We also worked hard to prepare an awesome Halloween Celebration for our friends in Primary, Lower El. and Upper El. The weather didn't exactly cooperate, but we held our celebration inside and I think a good time was had by all. Shout out to the parents who shared delicious treats!

This week we will get back to our Social Studies unit on the Emergence of Early Man and focus on honing literary analysis skills in response to short texts.
