It has been SO nice both having our students back at school for more of the day, AND to be enjoying this lovely (dare I say?) spring weather!
Our middle schoolers came off of overall success on a challenging quiz on evolution to attack a fairly crazy biology project. They randomly drew environmental characteristics (terrain, temperature, availability of water, etc) and were asked to "design" a fictional organism ideally adapted to fit it. They are in the midst of completing diorama models which they will present to the class on Monday. Afterward we will have a just-for-fun Pokemon (or Mortal Kombat) style Design-a-Beast battle.
Also, next week is Science Fair (FINALLY!!!)
We really hope to see all parents, grandparents, friends, and random people yanked off of Main St (ok scratch that last) to participate on THURSDAY from 2:45-3:45. This is our monthly "Third Thursday" event, and the students will benefit immensely from your questions and feedback. We will have a practice event on Wednesday during school with students observing each others' projects.
Lastly, I'm sure you've heard that next week will be our DGS Spirit Week! Participation is encouraged, and the breakdown is as follows:
Monday: Pajama Day
Tuesday: Favorite Sports Team Day
Wednesday: Future Day
Thursday: Crazy Hair Day
Friday: DGS Spirit Day
