You never know how an overcast rainy day will affect the class. This past Monday, Upper El spent the morning work cycle peacefully engaged for over three hours. They started planning with their committees (Student Board, Care of Environment, Culinary) and then off to their tier work choice board. This chart offers a system to help prioritize work choices. Students may complete tier 1 in any order. Once those items are done, they move on to the next tier. They record their work in their planners as they go. They use their lesson schedule to manage their choices. Just three weeks in, and they are so independent.

You know I love these tiers. A perfect example of the prepared environment, and how it makes that independence so much easier to develop naturally. Love it.
