Greetings, Upper Elementary families!
This week, students walked into town twice. On Monday, the Boggiano brothers invited us to the town's Veterans Day celebration, which included a powerful post-ceremony gathering inside of Town Hall. Here, our students had the opportunity to listen to the speeches of two veterans. I was so proud of our class for how respectful and mature they were during this event.
On Friday, we walked to the library, and despite the chilly drizzle, students had such a great attitude! Students searched for books to support them with their weather magazine research projects.
Our class worked hard this week on our ongoing projects, including literature circles, academic choice projects, and personal narratives. Students are on track to wrap these up before heading out on Thanksgiving Break.
Please check out our newsletter from this week. Note that tomorrow's yard sale has been postponed. Next week, we'll have our in-class celebration. Please look back at your emails to see what item your child has requested to bring in. You'll also see that we have a walking field trip scheduled for December. We'll head to AR Workshop right in town to do two fun projects. No permission slip or chaperones are needed for this outing (walking field trip permission slips are on file already).
If you'll be heading out of town early next week and your child will miss school, please let me know as soon as possible. The same goes for Winter Break.
Have a lovely weekend, everyone!
