We just finished our first full of week of school and students are back in action!
- Mulched our apple trees with DGS compost to help hold in moisture and supply nutrients.
- Vermiculture: created new worm bins to increase the production of worm castings for the fall farmers market season.
- Chicken care: cleaned out the coop and adding new bedding; Middle schoolers designed a solution to attaching our new chicken coop to our existing chicken run with the design criteria of keeping them safe from predators.
- Every week students feed and water the chickens and give our food scrapes to the worms and check the moisture.
